Bio-based waste materials are more often used as effective and cheap adsorbents to remove toxic organic compounds such dyes. Batch adsorption of C.I. Basic Blue 3 (BB3) onto Cladium mariscus saw-sedge was studied in comparison with sawdust obtained from various species wood order explore their potential application low-cost sorbents for basic dye removal wastewaters. The effect phase contact time (1–240 min), initial concentration (50–200 mg/L), the auxiliaries presence (10–60 g/L NaCl 0.1–0.75 anionic surfactant) on BB3 uptake investigated. kinetic data followed pseudo-second equation rather than pseudo-first one. equilibrium were analyzed using Langmuir, Freundlich, Tempkin isotherm models. monolayer sorption capacities decreased 44.29 42.07 mg/g 28.69 27.5 temperature increasing 20 50 °C. thermodynamic parameters change free energy (?G°), enthalpy (?H°), entropy (?S°) calculated, too.
